Reflection's Flora and Fauna
A collection of my photos of flora and fauna, and maybe now and then,
something else that catches my attention and just will not let go.
Maybe even with little verbage, which is pretty hard for this gal.

Pink in Duplicate

.
Have no idea what this little beauty is, it looks like the foliage of a succulent, found growing tucked into a flower bed in the beautiful Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah.  Oh, my, the flower beds there, breathtaking.

New Life Out of a Past Life

.

These new sprouts of some kind of a tree are coming from the remains of it's predecessor.  New life springing from the remains of old.  Life eternal.

Spirea

.
While cleaning the Baby HP and reviewing the photos, lots and lots of photos, I found this in the archives.  Taken last year at the stick built, my spirea.  The 3 bushes have had more than their share of trouble surviving, but, reward me anyway with delicate beauty, the close up reveals just how delicate.

One Year Ago Today

.
I started this blog, thinking I would post a photo a day of flora or fauna, or maybe a subject a day, as sometimes just one photo will not do!

Well, I did  it!  A full year of photos, every day, none missed.  I did cheat once or twice, Christmas day was a bit of a cheat, as it was the interior of a beautiful Catholic church, but there were flowers there, so, no cheat after all!  LOL  Thanksgiving last year, however was a full cheat, as I did not have a photo in my cache that worked, so, I borrowed some clip art.

Anyway, for the most part you have shared with me a journey, 365 days full of photos of flora and fauna.  Thanks for coming along. I won't lie, sometimes it has been a bit of a chore, keeping up, day after day, especially while on THE Trip!  Finding the time was a challenge.  That said THE Trip sure has provided some great photo fodder!  WAHHOOOO.

When checking the stats, about 80 posts received no comments, I never figured photos of flowers and animals would get many comments at all.  Interestingly, 4 posts have each received 7 comments, one of those was of my yorkie Gallagher and the other 3 were all of hummers!  I am humbled at all the comments that you leave.  Thank you all.

I am pre-scheduling this post, as as of now, about 1 month prior to publication, I find that I have had about 5,300 reads on this blog (noting, my reads, or previews of posts to come, do not count in the total, smart counters allow you to ignore your own hits!  Smart, eh?)  Again, thank you so much for dropping by.

Now that I have managed to survive the year, I am not quite sure if I will keep up a daily post, but, habits are hard to break, so, stay tuned as we all see what will happen next.

Today's offering, my grandmother's lilly, delicate and not suitable for outside planting.

I am not quite sure why, but, I find taking a good photo of a snap dragon to be difficult and trying:

One Bee's Love Affair With Yellow

Have been seeing a lot of bees feeding on beautiful and sweet smelling flowers this spring here in the southwest.  Here is another.  Snap, snap, snap goes Sony:

Yes, there is a bee here, top right, flying - -

Who Is Nesting Up There?

.
Also found at Montezuma Castle, near Camp Verde, Arizona.

Way up there, and I mean WAY, up there, look at that ledge/overhang area:

Let's get closer:

And, with everything Sony has, 20 times zoom:

Thinking, not sure, swallow nests??

Honeycomb, And a Few Bees

.
While at Montezuma Castle, near Camp Verde Arizona I noted a sign about a bee honeycomb nearby.  I looked around a bit, and finally spied it, wayyyyyyyyyy up there.   Can you see it, in the middle of the photo?

How bout with Sony zoomed 20 times?  Cropped, photo sharpened with Adobe, you can JUST make out the bees busy at work:
