Reflection's Flora and Fauna
A collection of my photos of flora and fauna, and maybe now and then,
something else that catches my attention and just will not let go.
Maybe even with little verbage, which is pretty hard for this gal.

Poppy

Every year I see these growing in several yards near me and I say, I need some of these.  I am still saying that!

Our Turtle and His Soft Drink

From the pond, had made his (or her) way all the way up the hill, and around the house to the front.  Found parked near Tana.  A small one.  We have had them as large as dinner plates.

* He/she looks to be a Midland Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta marginata), as found here.  A few years ago, Man was snapped at by a turtle in our yard, maybe the Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina serpentina) as found on the same page.

Field of Iris, and Thanks To

Thanks to Jennifer of 'On a flesh and bone foundation': An Irish History for a shout out for Reflection's Flora and Fauna.  What a nice surprise to find while I was nursing my AM mug of coffee.

So Dark Purple, it's Almost Black, Iris

Well, almost black.  If you have not seen the bud before it opens into this dark beauty, be sure to visit Reflections From the Fence.  The bud does look almost black.
