Reflection's Flora and Fauna
A collection of my photos of flora and fauna, and maybe now and then,
something else that catches my attention and just will not let go.
Maybe even with little verbage, which is pretty hard for this gal.

Blue Belly ? Kinked Tail? Well, We Know it is a Lizard

.
Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky, May 4, 2011.

As I prepared this photo I noted that it appears this lizard has both a blue belly and a kink in it's tail.

I did a little snooping trying to identify, but, mmmm, some of the photos I found on other web sites, sorta gave me the creeps, so, snicker, I stopped surfing.  Closeup photography is wonderful, to a point.  Some photographers just take it too far with certain subject matter!  LOL

Lazy as a Lizard, Bliss is a Bright Sunny Day

.

Yes, I have done a lizards post before, but, could not resist the look of total bliss and relaxation on the face of this one.  OK, humans probably should not project human emotions to animals, but, come on, isn't it rather hard when you see those little eyes closed in total relaxation while this lizard is sunning away?  He (or she) just looks as happy as any lizard ever could be, what more could he/she want??  He has a rock, abundant sun and no predators seem to be nearby, win, win, win!

Lizard, Sunning in the Spring

Found sunning along the Andreas Canyon hiking trail, Indian Canyons, Palm Springs, California.  He/she was not too skittish, he allowed me to take over 30 photos in a matter of minutes.  All other lizards spotted that day were running as fast as they could and I could not get one photo of any of them.
