Reflection's Flora and Fauna
A collection of my photos of flora and fauna, and maybe now and then,
something else that catches my attention and just will not let go.
Maybe even with little verbage, which is pretty hard for this gal.

Gonna Bloom?? Maybe?? Really??

.
I have had this orchid for a couple of years.  When purchased, it was of course, in bloom.  After a few weeks or months, it was finished blooming and then, it sat.  It did not die, it did not flourish, it did not bloom again.  It sat.  I take it with me in Tana, all the way to Gulf Shores last winter, this year, so far, all the way to Tucson.

In the last week or so, lookie what I see.

Mule Deer

.
While staying in Davis Mountains State Park, near Fort Davis Texas, the mule deer would come to visit several times a day. These photos were all shot out of the dirty back window of Tana and tweaked just a bit with the photo editing program.

A momma and a younger one:

Mom came pretty close and with the help of Sony, I got her real close:

And a male, as usual, the male is a bit more shy:

Luckenbach Chickens

.

End of November, 2012, we visited Luckenbach Texas during THE Trip, THE Encore'.  As we were walking around the property we kept hearing this loud bird noise, squawking, really a disturbing sound.  Then, we realized it came from chickens and roosters, LOTS of them, everywhere in the trees, like this one, standing about 6 foot up in a tree:

Spider Drill at Big Bend National Park

.

We were driving along in the midst of the HUGE vast place that is called Big Bend National Park, when Man spied something in the road, he straddled it, then, realized it was a spider, most likely a tarantula.

Man stopped Jolly in the middle of the road, put him in park, we all jumped out and trotted back with 3 cameras to take a photo of this fast moving creature.  Had no idea they could move that fast!  WOW!

I giggled for 10 minutes or more at our antics, 4 adults, 3 cameras, one spider and a great memory!
