Gosling Time

Late April, May and June are gosling time in SE Michigan.  They come to visit near our pond frequently.  For some reason this year they have not been around as much.  Which is fine, cause then they are not leaving us presents!  EWWWW.

But, they are cute.  These were taken June 9th.  Sony Too zoomed to the max, they were about 100 feet away.  With the assistance of the wonders of digital editing:

Gander at Four Goslings

We have multiple sets of goslings and their parents every year here at the stick built.  Here are 4 and one of the parents.  Photo taken May 7th, and they are still showing quite a bit of yellow, so they are young.  Sony was zoomed about to the max.

Nine Goslings Plus Mum and Pop

From the Archives, June, 2009, at the stickbuilt.  The geese, along with several other families, waddle from our pond, up the hill, cross the street, and into the neighbor's acreage, ending up spending the day in his pond.  Every evening, they reverse the route, crossing the neighbor's acreage, the street, down our hill, back into our pond and beyond into the swamp.  We have seen 3 and 4 families lined up making this trip together.
