Reflection's Flora and Fauna
A collection of my photos of flora and fauna, and maybe now and then,
something else that catches my attention and just will not let go.
Maybe even with little verbage, which is pretty hard for this gal.

Back Track on ID??

On Feb. 26, this year, I did a post on what I tentatively identified as mesquite.

This AM while trying to identify today's offering of a Arizona desert bloomer, I found this page, and have to say, this sure looks a lot like my ?mesquite?

So, maybe my sweet little yellow puff of a flower belongs to the commonly named, whitethorn acacia.

Yep, still learning, still making bad identifications.  Sorry, some of these are really tough for an undereducated layman guesser!  LOL

* And, no, I have not found the identity of the desert bloomer - - yet.

Desert Bloomer

Species unidentified.  Growing near Apache Junction, Arizona.

Gambel's Quail of Arizona

The Gambel's Quail according to a Wikipedia page is about 11 inches long.  These were about 10 to 15 feet from where I was standing on a deck above them taking photos.  Sony was zoomed pretty much to the max (20 times).  I took a lot of photos, isn't that a surprise?  Nah, I know, no surprise.  With that top knot feature, they are rather enchanting birds, aren't they?

I Chase Shadows

Being a dog lover, I cannot resist, even when they are not mine.  This frisky 7 month old border collie belongs to Johnny Cloud of the Cloud Museum, Bard California, near Yuma Arizona.  He chases shadows and shiny things he sees.

Red Powderpuff

I believe this lovely flower is the bloom from the Baja Fairy Duster Powderpuff.  It is a bush, a Calliandras.   Disclaimer: I am still learning the flora of the lands west of I 35.  Several different plants were photographed for this post.
