Reflection's Flora and Fauna
A collection of my photos of flora and fauna, and maybe now and then,
something else that catches my attention and just will not let go.
Maybe even with little verbage, which is pretty hard for this gal.

Fort Wayne's Children's Zoo, Banded Mongoose

The banded mongoose comes from central and eastern parts of Africa.  It lives in open savannas, open forests and grassland, especially near water, but also in dry, thorny bushland. They are common in areas with many termite mounds, that serve as housing and food.  They weigh around 4 pounds.

At the zoo, they were living behind a glass enclosure, presenting photographers with the challenge of glare and shadows.

Here are two adults digging.  Probably for insects, one of their main foods.

Here is a infant and an adult (and the shadow of my shoe mid left).
